Mickey Tolle

I grew up racing motorcycles in the deserts of SoCal (I learned to ride a motorcycle before I could ride a bicycle), and have always loved challenging myself physically and mentally. Over the years I have tried to find that challenge on my own, making up workouts at home or at my local Globo gym (how many lat pull downs can I do during the next Van Halen song?) and experimenting with different sports like rock climbing, mountain biking (on a Schwinn in the 60′s – now THAT got some weird looks!), trail running, etc. but I found that any one sport left me bored after awhile. It was a “eureka” moment when I discovered CrossFit! As a retired research scientist (with a PhD in Material Science), I can spend my days hanging around the gym. I started CrossFitting with Jason soon after he opened his first gym, and over the years I’ve found that listening to him and the other amazing trainers we have (and taking several certs) has given me the knowledge to start coaching others.
I CrossFit because
I love the daily challenge, mental and physical!
I Coach because
I enjoy helping others in our CrossFit community though direct coaching, support and encouragement, or just making the gym a place they want to come to
My not-so-secret excercise
love are burpees and any WOD over 45 minutes (one mile heavy sled pulls anyone?)
My goat move
is thrusters (I’m trying to find a medical reason to get them banished)
